Hello, my name is: Ingrid |

This is a precise REPLICA of a 1940's department store display bust that was molded directly from a vintage model. This was probably the most widely sold hat model of the 40's and 50's. This mold is highly detailed and reveals great castings. The height is 15 ", forehead circumference is 22" and ears are pierced for post-type earrings. Apparel is for display only and not included in the sale. In my opinion, this was the most popular and the best hat display mannequin head ever made. She has the inherent poise and ability to make any hat look good from the cloche types of the 20's to the wide-brimmed hats of the 40's. Her hair is shaped to accommodate variations in hat sizes. If I had to pick one model to display hats from a wide time period, it would definitely be this one. She is not a beauty queen but possesses an appearance of sophistication and poise that does not distract from the apparel being modeled. The primary objective of Decoeyes is to duplicate a historically correct hat and jewelry shop display mannequin true to the golden era of mannequin production (the 1920's through the 1950's). We work very hard to create a model that closely resembles a new, mint-in-the-box original display from this era. "Old School" techniques are utilized and no compromises are accepted solely for the purpose of reducing material costs or saving time of labor. Our models are cast in the best USA manufactured resins available. Each is cast, hand-finished, and hand-painted in our shop. We have made changes over the years and each change was made to improve our product..never to save money or time. The fantastic original vintage models were originally produced for the purpose of store displays and were never intended for public consumption. The originals show the marks of handwork and ours impart the same hand-made "flaws"......they are not perfect, each is totally hand-made and exhibits "old school" techniques. "There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man's lawful prey!" John Ruskin (1819-1900).
