Hello, my name is: Susie |

This is a REPLICA of a 1940's department store display bust that was molded directly from a vintage model. This lady is Art Deco both in style of sculpture and paint. There has not been a decade since its introduction in 1925 that Art Deco has not been in style. The ability to accept wigs and hats, lobed pierced ears, nice neck-jewelry area and timeless Art Deco style makes her one of the best multi-use busts on the market today. The height is 16", the forehead circumference is 20 3/4", the width of shoulders is 12 1/2", and she will take a necklace length of +/- 20" (longer on a stand). There is a 1 1/4" hole for easy and safe display on a stand. Accessories shown (jewelry, hats, stand and wraps) are for display and not included in the final sale. The primary objective of Decoeyes is to duplicate a historically correct hat and jewelry shop display mannequin true to the golden era of mannequin production (the 1920's through the 1950's). We work very hard to create a model that closely resembles a new, mint-in-the-box original display from this era. "Old School" techniques are utilized and no compromises are accepted solely for the purpose of reducing material costs or saving time of labor. Our revised models are hand cast in a very durable and nontoxic resin produced by Smooth-On, Inc. of Pennsylvania. Features are airbrushed (as were the original models) with an automobile detail paint and finished with a durable clear sealant. Colors are hand mixed to duplicate those found on original American and European vintage shop displays. These fantastic vintage models were originally produced for the purpose of store displays and were never intended for public consumption. The originals show the marks of handwork and ours impart the same hand-made "flaws"......they are not perfect, each is totally hand-made and exhibits "old school" techniques. "There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man's lawful prey!" John Ruskin (1819-1900).
